Maren Sofie Strømme
I was borne in Bergen, but we moved very early to Fitjar, Stord. My father`s ancestors came from Iceland.

Education
- I went to college with art as a main subject.
- Fana school of Arts & Craft .
- Hair-dresser, running my own saloon for some years. Later educated myself as an interior-design advisor in 1998.
- Studying history and art at Folkeuniversitet in Bergen 1999 – 2000.
- Autumn 2000 I started as a student at Friundervisningen, School of Drawing and Painting, in Bergen.
- 2001/2002: Student at KIB (School of Art in Bergen).
I have always loved drawing and painting pictures, and been very interested in studying light and colours. I also like to study art history and foreign cultures.
I have therefore made several trips to foreign countries : North- West- and East Africa, Greece, Malta, the Carribean islands and – off course – Iceland.
My dreams of - and experiences from - foreign cultures, have been inspiration for my painting in oil and water-colours.
I have participated in several exhibitions in Fitjar and Stord, and I have also had my separate exhibitions:
- 1998 - Banco Rotto and First Marin Hotel in Bergen.
- 1999 - Dalebu in Fitjar (During “The weeks of coast history”).
- 2000 - Gallery “Kunst og ramme” in Haugesund.
